<p>05:15 – How do we give them the tools to go from unconsciously working out, like mindlessly exercising, it&#8217;s the hammering away on the treadmill, while you&#8217;re watching an episode of Oprah. Hitting the machines and not really dropping into your body or really experiencing movement. How do you actually learn how to mindfully move your body from the intention of wanting to care for your body, not from the intention of wanting to change the way you look? So you can get external validation and feel good about yourself? Right. So that&#8217;s kind of how we got to here!</p>
<p>10:40 – I also think that if you surround yourself with people who are all stuck in the same toxic mindset, then you end up complaining and circulating in that mindset. It&#8217;s interesting to me, one of the things that we discovered early on about community was, it is one of the greatest predictors to overall longevity. In fact, I think it was Wendy Suzuki is a neuroscientist that said that it was the number one predictor of longevity is the amount of positive connections you have with other people.&nbsp;</p>
<p>14:30 – I feel like this is something I&#8217;ve become really aware of. It&#8217;s funny because Katie was the one who came up with this intention as the business was, how do we change people? How do we bring awareness to this toxic weight loss culture we&#8217;re stuck in, which is like, do this crash diet, do this workout, do this whatever, and you&#8217;ll lose weight and you&#8217;ll feel better about yourself. We just said it like a little bit ago, you&#8217;ll lose weight, but you won&#8217;t feel better about yourself.</p>
<p>23:30 – The goal is just to get people rallied up and consistent. We go over these topics of intention, movement, beliefs, community with them and really dive deep into them. It really changes a lot of people&#8217;s lives. What&#8217;s really interesting to me about these challenges, is that when people come together in a community, and one person is willing to raise their hand and share, like, Hey, I&#8217;m really struggling with this.&nbsp;</p>
<p>34:15 – I think people struggle with that. But again, I think this comes down to that self-worth and I think where we can really differentiate ourselves as a brand is that WeShape isn&#8217;t focused on body transformation, losing weight, and all this different stuff. We&#8217;re trying to bring to someone&#8217;s attention that hey, look at all the magazines and all the internet stuff everything is basically making you feel shitty about yourself. We&#8217;re shaping a new way, we&#8217;re trying to change the way we&#8217;re approaching us. All that stuff out there is making you feel shitty so that you buy their stuff.</p>
<p>40:45 – The mindset work, the psychological work, that is something that we personally have to take accountability for. You have to have a personal accountability and investment yourself.&nbsp;</p>
<p>58:00 – I want them to stop getting stuck in these toxic weight loss cycles. Stop getting stuck in these exercise programs and diets and all this crap and start learning how to appreciate themselves. Teach them to connect with themselves and show up with better intentions and lean into a community who can support them through that.</p>

<p>I think what I want to stand for is just showing people that it starts with their opinion of themselves. What you believe about yourself, is what you will do with your life. If you believe that you&#8217;re worthless, and you know you&#8217;re a failure, and you can&#8217;t do all of these things, then there you go. That&#8217;s the life that you&#8217;re gonna end up creating for yourself. You can believe whatever you want. So you can believe and see all of these positive things about yourself. You can keep training that belief and holding that belief as truth and fortifying that belief through your actions to build it into truth. So that will become your life. It&#8217;s just your choice what you want to believe.</p>

<p>People need to realize that health is personalized. Everybody is a little different, don&#8217;t be too dogmatic about it. Don&#8217;t be like oh I&#8217;m a Vegan so everyone else has to be a Vegan.&nbsp;Or, I&#8217;m a Carnivore so everyone else has to be a Carnivore.</p>
<p>There are definitely certain principles that apply to everybody. For example, eating process sugar is bad for you! There IS a lot of diversity and customization available, so you want to be aware of that.</p>

<p>A year ago we met at MAPCON where today&#8217;s returning co-host was promoting an&nbsp;upcoming documentary movie called The Messengers. Scott interviewed Niel because he&nbsp;was looking to lose 100 lbs for a major lifestyle transformation as well. Since then the film has been shot and edited over the past ten months. He&#8217;s the Director, Editor, he shot all drone footage, and much of the film personally. He also hosts the All Things Post podcast for almost three years now. He has also since become a podcast zero to launch coach, speaker, is currently working on a short documentary on Haiti, and is even shooting parts of a sports documentary called Beyond The Game! Since Brian has been using isogenic, he has become the product of the product. Brian had been a personal trainer for ten years.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;18:07&#8243;] Anti-scales. It&#8217;s all about the inches. It&#8217;s the inflammatory weight leaving your body. Brian in the past 30 days lost 10 inches.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;19:00&#8243;] Bio-electrical impedance analysis (BIA) is a commonly used method for estimating body composition and in particular body fat.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;21:03&#8243;] Nutrient density. Having nutrient dense meals not only to support the body through the transformation but to maintain the existing muscle mass.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;23:01&#8243;] Supported fasting day. You are given a certain amount of snacks and supports along with the cleansing supplement, your body is naturally able to cleanse and detox but many of us are not healthy enough to do it. What Brian took just jacks it up to give you a super a deep cleansing day.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;23:56&#8243;] Fasting has been around for centuries in different forms. The importance of sleep, circadian rhythm, helps you rest, recover and heal.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;26:40&#8243;] It&#8217;s 2017, with New Year&#8217;s resolutions still a hot topic, you can&#8217;t go from couch potatoes to guns blazing because you could cause injury, cause tears in your muscle tissue all these side effects that could end up setting you back and psychologically having a negative impact on you. Build up. Take your time. Whether it&#8217;s a nutritional program or your workouts take your time, be smart with your body and it&#8217;s transformation. It is a process.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;29:46&#8243;] Mind of the Athlete</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;30:30&#8243;] How Scott and Brian met</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;32:06&#8243;] Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a general term used to describe a group of rare inherited skin disorders that cause the skin to become very fragile. Brian has been helping and raising money for John Hudson Dilgen, a young man from Staten Island, New York who suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;33:43&#8243;] Skin is the largest organ on our body. These children with Epidermolysis Bullosa are essentially an open wound. Brian had previously raised $1200 for the EBRP by competing in the Wilderness 101 Mountain bike race. Brian wanted to do something for him personally, he couldn&#8217;t buy him a video game or a bike, so he was told by his aunt, who is on the board of Epidermolysis Bullosa, what he could do personally for him. Brian made some custom oak steps for John&#8217;s service dog. He got to hand deliver this to John which was the emotional and life-changing moment for him. Then recently Brain came across a video on Facebook at 04:30 in the morning. The video was about Johns living conditions, he lived in an old Victorian style house in Staten Island New York which really was not set up for John&#8217;s condition. His parents are now looking to remodel the middle floor of their house to accommodate a special bath tub. After tagging his boss and company in a post on Facebook, Brian managed by 10:30 to get the kitchen design, build, delivery and installation absolutely free through sponsorship. The cabinetry for the bathroom free with soapstone counters.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;41:22&#8243;] The company that donated all of the above was Precise Graphix which were featured on the television show The Profit.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;44:54&#8243;] Brian is setting up some fundraisers and fitness classes with Inner Strength</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;48:35&#8243;] Kettlebells. When your hurting doesn&#8217;t stop. Brian feels back to the way he used to be.</li>
