<p>07:05 – Independent companies are becoming more and more rare. As independent companies get successful, they almost inevitably always get bought up. Once they&#8217;re bought up, they&#8217;re absorbed into that corrupt world. Ambassadors moroseness and then they&#8217;re just a name and a logo that has to align with whatever the mother corpse narratives and marketing initiatives might be and so where is your individuality? Professional and personal individuality is definitely the enemy of the state. By the state, I mean the corporate state, the corporate state is government, the corporate state is medicine, the corporate state is law, the corporate state is everything that we call the system, schools, everything, and yes even our food.</p>
<p>10:45 – The key word there is look at the definition of non-consensual, actually hell, to be fair, even if it is consensual, I have an ethical issue with a lot of stuff like that. I&#8217;d rather work together with somebody, not control that right, let&#8217;s instead educate each other, let&#8217;s help each other through that, that next step of life. Let&#8217;s do the research to get to the point of shared education. I&#8217;m not going to just control somebody. So even if somebody gave me consent, I still feel weird about that.&nbsp;</p>
<p>21:20 &#8211; It&#8217;s about their model, they have three tools in their tool belt. They&#8217;re going to drug you, they&#8217;re going to burn you through radiation, or they&#8217;re going to cut you through surgery. It&#8217;s either drug, cut, or burn. That&#8217;s the only tools the doctors have got. They&#8217;re not taught, preventative anything. They&#8217;re not taught nutrition. They&#8217;re not taught exercise. They&#8217;re not taught healthy light. They&#8217;re not taught about impacts of healthy water, salt aka electrolytes, etc.</p>
<p>22:30 &#8211; In a quest to find out answers about my wife, in a nutshell, it took about six months of digging to realize that the that entire health industry is just BS. I&#8217;m not saying that there are not good, well-meaning, sincere people that work in that industry. But the industry as a whole is deceptive and is profit driven. It is not looking out for the best interest of a patient in any way shape or form.</p>
<p>32:00 – Name another life form that creates artificially made chemical concoctions to deal with their health, wellness, illness, and problems. We&#8217;re supposed to be the superior species of the planet, with our larger brains, etc.</p>
<p>40:00 – The one thing that I think most people will relate to is the proof that Glyphosate doesn&#8217;t break down, it never breaks down. Animals eat the plants, then we eat the animal. It&#8217;s now in the ground, plants will bring it uproot, then something to consume that plant. I mean, it just keeps going.</p>
<p>50:45 – You learn through conversation, we&#8217;re now not encouraged to have conversations anymore, and especially not healthy debates. There&#8217;s now a one sided, weird, social peer pressure system to not disagree with anybody, or not rock the boat, or not ask the wrong question, or not speak up, or speak your mind. Because you&#8217;re going to be labeled as some social posturing term, that&#8217;s bad, or whatever.</p>
<p>01:01:50 &#8211; They are psychopaths. They are eugenics obsessed, warmongering, serial killer psychopaths. So why is anybody listening to them anymore? Quite honestly, it&#8217;s because they&#8217;ve run the dice, what less and less people know, is good for business.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s okay to ask questions. It&#8217;s okay to be skeptical and it&#8217;s okay to say no, embrace the ability to say no instead. It sounds so simple, but saying no is really hard for people, especially these days. A lot of people are socially shamed into the accent, there&#8217;s this weird kind of peer pressure thing going on where people are afraid. They know that a lot of people know that they don&#8217;t want to do these things, or think these things, or say these things, or think a certain way, but they&#8217;re just afraid to be individuals. If nothing else, if when I&#8217;m gone, and you&#8217;re standing at my headstone, which is going to be a big middle finger.</p>
<p>Maybe someone will go out there, at least that guy did everything he could do, to let everyone around him know. It&#8217;s okay to talk, it&#8217;s okay to have opinions, it&#8217;s okay to ask questions, and it&#8217;s absolutely okay to say no. No human has the right to declare nonconsensual authority, authority over another human. If somebody is claiming authority over you, I would question that relationship. I&#8217;d want to see the paperwork behind it and how that other person thinks that they have this authority, and don&#8217;t be afraid to say no. Most importantly, you can do all of that with a smile on your face and love in your heart and it does. Nobody has to act like a Karen.</p>

<p>As far as Diet goes, because my editor asked me, you got to have a diet I said. If it tastes good, don&#8217;t eat it. Unless you read the label, I guarantee it has sugar in it. So that is all you have to do, you don&#8217;t have to count calories, you can eat all the calories you want. Eat steak, eat as much steak as you want, because you&#8217;re going to be satiated and satisfied so quickly. You&#8217;re really not gonna be hungry anyway. So it&#8217;s a misnomer, eat a lot of sugar, you will be hungry and never satisfied. That&#8217;s number one.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s all about stem cells now, and my new book will be a lot about stem cells. Stem cells do not give a rat&#8217;s ass what you call your itis because they don&#8217;t speak English. Did you know that stem cells don&#8217;t speak English, French, German, or any other language other than the immune system language? That&#8217;s my message. Unlike drugs, if you do stem cells, it&#8217;ll get rid of any disease if it&#8217;s inflammatory. That&#8217;s my message, living a natural lifestyle, using natural products, which stem cells are, and whether it&#8217;s allergenic or your own, life will be good. So have a nice steak and some green vegetables and you&#8217;ll live forever,</p>

If you eat a ketogenic diet, you&#8217;re not going to be alignment. I am a keto guy. You&#8217;re going to be very strong, you&#8217;re going to be very alert, and lean and mean, but we don&#8217;t need that. We need you 350 I can get your calories up for every pound I can get you up there. So how are we gonna do that, well we got to feed you. We got a carbohydrate load. and you got to eat multiple meals during the day. We just got to fatten you up.</li>

So if dead tissue is present, the fungus gets underneath the nail, which is a dead curtain, which is what it&#8217;s made of, and they just breathe in there. If we go back in history, especially the 1800s, they were just describing effects they didn&#8217;t know was from sugar. Only the rich people ate sugar because it was expensive. It was scarce then but now it&#8217;s plentiful, it&#8217;s in everything and it&#8217;s cheap. We use that as a preservative and so everybody is sick. America is fat and sick and weakened by this horrible dependency on sugar.</li>

<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;08:00&#8243;]&nbsp;I think because I&#8217;m in the Midwest and there are a lot of baby boomers here, we need more providers, we need what nurse practitioners are often called, which is a mid-level provider. They&#8217;re desperate for help. I think that&#8217;s part of why maybe we have more rights and more autonomy. Iowa has allowed me to really build an integrative or functional medicine practice. There&#8217;s no guarantee that I could have found a true medical doctor who would have allowed me to practice under them this in this manner.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;14:00&#8243;] A fireman versus a carpenter approach, describes conventional, or you could say traditional medicine, as being more the fire department. The fire department is used to put out the fire. A chiropractor is then the carpenter approach to move forward with.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;15:00&#8243;] You&#8217;re not always taught how to prevent future fires, right? That&#8217;s where what we do comes in, we&#8217;re a functional medicine provider, a contractor or Carpenter as I discussed in my book. We are helping patients build a healthier body using functional medicine principles because we want to get to the root cause. We want to determine if the patient has inflammation and figure out those triggers. We want to help put out that fire without hopefully having to use drugs and surgery.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;19:00&#8243;] A Carnivore Study? I want to go off on a tangent now. I am very curious what happens to hormones and what happens to nutritional deficiencies on that sort of diet?</li>

I did utilize some of the&nbsp;conventional medicine but I use a lot of functional medicine to help with fertility. I&#8217;ve been gluten-free for I don&#8217;t even know how many years, five years maybe. I&#8217;m not free of all grains but I am 100% gluten-free and I needed to go dairy-free as well.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;35:00&#8243;] Terry Wahls is a good friend and colleague, her working knowledge base is ridiculous. She&#8217;s someone who reversed her autoimmune condition. She was wheelchair bound with MS &#8211; Multiple Sclerosis and was essentially sent home to die. So she did her own research, being she was conventionally trained, she sought out functional medicine and now she&#8217;s in the best shape of her life. She feels amazing.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;43:00&#8243;]&nbsp;It&#8217;s all about gut health. It&#8217;s all about getting back to the inflammation. You mentioned punching that fire out and for autoimmune diseases specifically, that&#8217;s what Terry Wahls&#8217; book is all about. It is getting the inflammatory foods out of her gut to really reverse her condition.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;45:30&#8243;] Chefs in the cooking world do not fully understand microbiome, gut biology, and how food allergies actually work. Sugar tastes good, sugars are addicting, so that&#8217;s why they want you to come back.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;53:00&#8243;] There are a time and place where with some patients, there&#8217;s not a lot they can do nutritionally. If they don&#8217;t have the organs necessary to produce the hormones in their symptomatic, they may need hormones. Topical gels and creams, they&#8217;re&nbsp;not my favorite, as they&#8217;re not the preferred forms. Injectables, those are all synthetic, so I do not like offer those. Then there are sublingual lozenges you can put on your tongue but with BioTe, I believe this is the most potent and safest delivery method. BioTe, Bio-Identical Testosterone Estrogen delivered in hormone pellets.</li>

<p>Ann-Marie graduated from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, an accredited 4 year Doctoral program that is considered a leader in evidence-based medicine, and the first Chiropractic school to be awarded a federal research grant.</p>

Ann has also undergone advanced training in Applied Kinesiology, completing over 400 extra classroom hours and is certified to practice Applied Kinesiology. <p>Dr. Barter has completed the 18 hours required for certification by The Running Clinic for: New Trends in the Prevention of Running Injuries. This training course has been delivered more than a hundred times, on 5 continents! It has been developed using the most recent scientific evidence, it questions several current unjustified practices. The techniques learned in this class help Dr. Barter better assess her patients and aids in making recommendations for avoiding future running-related injuries.</p>

<p>Medicine is a second career and passion for Dr. Barter. Initially, she worked at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas negotiating major systems for their fighter jet program. She excelled at difficult negotiations and was able to hit challenging company goals.</p>
<p>Ann is passionate about chiropractic, helping people get out of pain and reach their maximum potential. Chiropractic changed Dr. Barter’s life. When she was in initially introduced to chiropractic (in her early 20’s) she was skeptical. The more educated she became in the art of chiropractic, the more interested and intrigued she became, until she finally asked for an adjustment from a family friend who practices chiropractic. The treatment was like magic. He not only adjusted her spine but also her feet, hips, knees, wrists, and elbows. She felt new and light, like a better version of herself. He also took extra time to put her on a specific dietary protocol and nutritional regimen, from which she realized major positive changes. She excelled academically, experienced less gastrointestinal upset, reduced brain-fog, lost weight, and started to enjoy activities like hiking, because her foot mechanics had been changed.</p>

It&#8217;s also that time of year, it was kind of rocky, I mean the conditions were ice they closed a week later.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;14:36&#8243;]&nbsp;It really gave me a respect for the mountains and so now going out in that country just totally gives me a different respect for it. I guess you have to be humbled to really see what that&#8217;s all about.</li>

I was a competitive dancer and a competitive runner but I did a lot of my growing up in Texas, which is pretty flat. So there&#8217;s none of the mountain experience that you can have. I actually didn&#8217;t like to hike as a kid I used to whine about it because my feet were really bad and so it hurt me to walk and hike.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;19:19&#8243;] I found chiropractic when I was in college because I had all kinds of gut and gastrointestinal problems and I found alternative health. So my story into alternative health is this, I remember having such bad period cramps I went to my MD, right? Well she actually just said you know, suck it up.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;20:59&#8243;] I get my appendix removed, told the whole time, I&#8217;m perfectly healthy as I just have an organ removed. Fast forward a few years I&#8217;m in college and I start breaking out into hives all over my body and an anaphylaxis reaction. Trip after trip to the emergency room, they give me Benadryl on top of Benadryl, nobody ever talked to me about diet, lifestyle, anything.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;27:25&#8243;] You can see if on basic lab panels like homocysteine will tell us if somebody has current information related to that MTHFR gene. Your body produces glutathione. In fact, it&#8217;s a major antioxidant. One of the most powerful antioxidants in the body.</li>

I have been doing this for like 20 years before Paleo was cool. I remember just one time trying to go vegan just to see if I could go vegan for 30 days to see if I could do it. I literally think I felt how frustrated people feel when they&#8217;re trying to change their diet for the first time because it was so hard. I couldn&#8217;t find any foods to eat because I don&#8217;t need a ton of grains. I don&#8217;t eat soy.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;34:00&#8243;]&nbsp;Aside from the vegan diet not being good for me, just based on how active my lifestyle is, etc. Plus really needing to do additional supplementation.</li>

<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;41:02&#8243;] You always have to check men&#8217;s estrogen to make sure that they&#8217;re not producing too much estrogen when you&#8217;re checking their testosterone. Same with women.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;42:46&#8243;] Ubiome, they&#8217;ll break down what bacteria you have in your gut and what you don&#8217;t have in your gut. It&#8217;s actually pretty cool testing to figure out what&#8217;s going on.</li>

<p>Being a practitioner, sometimes practitioners don&#8217;t connect because there&#8217;s this concern about scarcity and they don&#8217;t do what&#8217;s best for the patient. It can be working with our MD or working with a surgeon or whomever it is, to give them the best care when we integrate.</p>
<p>It is powerful medicine because multiple eyes looking at one thing is so much better than one set of eyes looking at one thing. I just think people really do need to take control of their health.</p>
<p>The people that I see coming in here, they are 20 years old, especially in my Denver location. They&#8217;re 20 years old, they&#8217;re struggling with crazy things that they cannot get to the bottom of. I mean we&#8217;re talking eczema, we&#8217;re talking about abscesses in their large intestines. You have to take these alternative methods seriously earlier, because, you know, you&#8217;re going to have a much better life, you&#8217;re going to have a much better quality of life. I don&#8217;t know why people don&#8217;t want to do that. I don&#8217;t know why people don&#8217;t want to embrace that. It&#8217;s just baffles me.</p>

<p>The key to fitness, health and wellness are <strong>sleep</strong>. With poor sleep comes poor foundations. With poor foundations, we cannot build. Everything will come crashing down. People through time have worn a lack of sleep, due to hustle and getting stuff done, as a badge of honor. It&#8217;s time to put to bed that misconception with Episode 44 and our co-host <strong>Kevin Cottrell</strong> of <a href="http://fitfluentialradio.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fitfluentialradio.com</a>&nbsp;and the <a href="http://www.healthcastnow.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HealthCast Now Podcast</a>. Kevin found out the hard way. Through poor lifestyle and environmental choices, Kevin developed a Melanoma Cancer. Although he was a fit guy, his fitness was built upon a foundation of poor sleep. Kevin made critical lifestyle choices and is now healthier than ever. This episode is about the importance of sleep and lifestyle choices.</p>

<h2>On This Episode You Will Hear:</h2>

<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;01:22&#8243;] Kevin left College in the 80&#8217;s, he went back to where he grew up in the Palo Alto area. Kevin got involved in a number of startups in the 90&#8217;s, he was the typical Biz Dev Executive working 80-90 hours, traveling excessively, not getting enough sleep but he worked out every day. He thought he was on track. Then came the late 90&#8217;s into 2001 and the Dot Com crash. He had stock options on a startup that went public. The shares went from $100 a share to $1 a share in 60 days. An inner layer of stress started to form. Kevin was a guy, during that period of his life that thought sleep was overrated. As long as he kept working out things would be OK. Moving forward to the summer of 2006, Kevin had a mole removed, just a straight forward procedure. He gets a calling saying he needs an emergency procedure to remove some skin from his neck as he has a pretty serious Melanoma (Type of Skin Cancer).</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;03:55&#8243;] One of the things Kevin got really good at as an Executive was when lots of drama and chaos comes up, Leadership and Executives fall into one of two camps, they are either a problem solver or you are part of the problem and chaos. Kevin had developed quite a good reputation as a problem solver so he began systematically asking questions at the Doctors office about the problem. He kept a level head despite the stress surging through his body.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;06:02&#8243;] At the point in time Kevin had the Cancer, he had the belief the Cancer was to do with family history but he came to find out since then it was much more to do with his lifestyle that put him at risk than it was any family history.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;07:33&#8243;] In 2009 Kevin was known as &#8216;Fat Kevin&#8217;. Now he wasn&#8217;t obese, but he looked obese. He was heavier and started to trend towards type 2 diabetes. This was from following the conventional advice from the Doctors. He was back to working out at four in the morning five times a week. He wasn&#8217;t getting enough sleep and was starting to move towards a different direction from a lifestyle stand point. He knew something was not right still. After listing to a Podcast about the Paleo Diet, Kevin knew he had to start looking into it. It wasn&#8217;t about the diet he was interested in, it was the lifestyle concept. A Doctor Friend, Dr. Jack Kruse, challenged him to go look at the incidents of melanoma and look at the further you are from the equator are the incidents. Kevin started to change his lifestyle. He began to focus on sleep and getting a healthy dose of sunlight. What happened was he got really healthy. His blood marker ratings went from a 6 to less than 1. He dramatically reduced the inflammation in his body. All by changing his environment and his lifestyle.</li>

<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;13:38&#8243;]&nbsp;Key Bio Markers,&nbsp;BUN to Creatinine Ratio,&nbsp;Blood Marker for Inflammation. Vitamin D levels. If you are in an environment where you have way too much blue light, you are indoors way too much, you can take Vitamin D Supplements or even Sun outside and remarkably our bodies do not react.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;16:28&#8243;] Kevin takes fewer supplements now. He concentrates on core lifestyle changes. Getting out and getting sunlight. Anchoring his Circadian rhythm.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;19:52&#8243;] Sleep is something we do have control over. The fastest way to wreck yourself is not to get enough sleep but also hormonally wack yourself by not sleeping correctly based on the light cycle.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;22:00&#8243;] Melatonin Production. Coincidences of low Melatonin and chronic diseases. Stop playing Russian Roulette with sleep. You can whack your Melatonin in a number of different ways. The first is not sleeping enough and not sleeping at the right times.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;24:50&#8243;] Your body needs to recover. Building a building or building a house. If your light/dark cycle and Circadian rhythm is out, you should be working our less, it is the quickest way to burnout. True health and wellness is built on the foundation of good sleep and good nutrition.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;33:12&#8243;] Focus on your foundation. Be clean. Eat real food that is nutrient dense. But if you are having problems focusing on the circadian alignment. Do some of the non-intuitive things, take a look at some of your lifestyle choices, are you poisoning yourself with blue light at night or are you falling asleep with the TV on in the bedroom or are your blood markers showing you have massive inflammation, focus on that then come back and look at your workouts. Workout less more is not better.</li>

<p>Effects on our lifestyle and our environment on the epigenetics side are the switches that you turn on or off. This is not only for health and wellness but also the dark side meaning, chronic diseases, and potentially early death. You should be focusing on optimizing our lifestyle and environment. In other words, we are not going to be optimized if we are inadvertently destroying our foundation.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t fall prey to the argument of, I am going to just eat more healthy or exercise more because if the foundations are destroyed it is not going to work. Focus on sleep, focus on a circadian optimization plan, which is the light/dark cycle and eliminating the things that get you off track.</p>

<p>DocBeast is a real ER doctor, a fellow CrossFit workout buddy, coach, and more! You have to ask yourself, why you want the things you do. When you do this, you can focus on what matters and start making steps towards that. To get you there quicker you also have to focus on You. Focusing on you is not being selfish. It will allow you to take twelve steps forward to achieving your Why. That is what this episodes co-host did. From being an unhealthy Doctor, Dr. William Borde-Perry transformed himself by focusing on him. After getting fit, it gave Will a new purpose in life, and it felt like he had been given superpowers. He became DocBeast, a brand that represents him perfectly. He is fitness certified by Insanity, CrossFit, with experience in Olympic Lifting, Mobility, Strongman; all while working at three different hospitals and being a loyal family man. The list of knowledge and credentials DocBeast has is endless. All of this is possible by focusing on himself to solidify his Why. The advice here is, always be a student in life and start to make a change in your life today</p>

<h2>On This Episode You Will Hear:</h2>

<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;01:52&#8243;] The DocBeast brand was born in 2011. In 2009 Dr. William started his journey with Beachbody &#8211; Insanity Workouts. He was 270 lbs, he was out of breath all the time and he needed to lose weight. After he lost 50 lbs and got fit it felt like he had superpowers. People would refer to him as &#8220;Beast&#8221; and he was a Doctor so after different iterations &#8220;DocBeast&#8221; stuck.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;02:54&#8243;] Growing up Dr. William done some weight work but not as focused as he has been since he began CrossFit and BeachBody. After improving his diet with protein and vegetables, he began to realize how much he could lift. Fitness has opened up the whole world to him, its transformed him physically and who he is.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;03:54&#8243;] Growing up, his Mom would not let his sister and him play sports. He was born and raised in Newark New Jersey part of a single parent house hold. Dr. Williams Mom wanted them to focus on academics. When he wasn&#8217;t studying he would sneak mini work outs in his room.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;04:39&#8243;] Without fitness, he felt he became very sluggish but with it he felt energized, it brought friends and an education. He utilized a lot of his education in the medical field, he used a lot of his education in the Molecular Biology to educate himself further. As he got older he moved from using fitness as something that makes him look and feel good to helping others achieve that.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;06:04&#8243;] Dr. William has found that when it comes to people who don&#8217;t exercise or choose not to have educated themselves in nutrition, they are more depressed and less motivated.</li>

If you just sacrifice just 30 minutes per day to exercise and focus on your nutrition you can actually give back more to your &#8216;Why&#8217;. It is an investment into yourself. You are going to take one step back to give yourself some time and focus so you can take twelve steps forwards.</li>
<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;12:31&#8243;] Putting your best self forward. DocBeast is not a self made man, its all the influences and mentors around him that have got him to this point.</li>

His diet has gone from drinking milkshakes to whole clean foods, drinking nutrition shakes and lots of vegetables and lean meats. How inflammation is tied to disease.</li>

<li>[spp-timestamp time=&#8221;37:17&#8243;] Stick to the perimeters in supermarkets. Look for whole fresh foods. The aisle are full of stuff with expiration dates that are lasting longer than most foods because they have been preserved. When you have a lifestyle that is taking in natural foods like vegetables and lean meats, you will be getting the essential vitamins that your body needs to work with the enzymes that help function you body, a lot of most people complaints will go away.</li>
