What is MAPCON aka MID-ATLANTIC PODCAST CONFERENCE?

Mid-Atlantic Podcast started (December 2014) as a Facebook group for podcasters who live in the Mid-Atlantic States (North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and Connecticut). The idea was to bring podcasters together for meet ups, Google Hangouts and eventually grow into conferences. After seeing the interest to have a podcast (exclusive) conference in the northeast, Joe Pardo jumped on the opportunity to make it happen.

This was Nick’s third year at MAPCON. His first year he was nervous as hell and uncomfortable because he didn’t realize that podcasting was something bigger than himself. His second year was growth by coming back and speaking for the 8 minute segment in 2017. This year he went for the 20 minutes of speaking and tackled something that many people don’t tackle in their presentations, something more perosnal. He hopes more people share more personal things about themselves so other people share back. #FriendsWithBeneVests

We Three Amigos, walk from three separate walks of life. We just met a year ago. Anybody who whatch us now would think we were friends for 20+ years. When you find folks that you click with, take the opportunity to really invest in those relationships. Here we are, having a great time, wearing three vests. The vests were just a silly idea, but we are amongst a group of a 100 people and there are only three dudes with three vests.

As we go out on our walks in life and we move forward in daily transactions, don’t just make it a transaction in life. With the individuals that you actually have a connection with, take the time and invest in that. Go out and connect!

A year ago we met at MAPCON where today’s returning co-host was promoting an upcoming documentary movie called The Messengers. Scott interviewed Niel because he was looking to lose 100 lbs for a major lifestyle transformation as well. Since then the film has been shot and edited over the past ten months. Today’s co-host is somebody I met recently at #MAPCON 2016 (Mid-Atlantic Podcast Conference). This gentleman is a podcaster, host of the popular Relaunch show, author of Finding Your Voice, as well as a public speaker, and has been involved in broadcasting for over 27 years; he is Joel Boggess.

Joel’s show, focuses on that one thing that created that turning point in his guest’s life.

At the age of five, Joel fell off a 30ft high bridge. He ending up in a three-week coma as a result. Part of his ReLaunch involved him getting into Karate, eventually reaching black belt and even teaching Karate.

Doing is the new planning. You could spend hours, days, weeks putting together a business plan or a personal growth plan. In the end, you could have something that resembles something that looks like a small house. But you know what? That still does not do anything regarding accomplishing your end goals. That will definitely not move the needle in your bank account or your health and fitness lifestyle. It’s not going to move the needle in general. “Do” something today vs just planning it. If you can only walk to the end of the street, then do that. If you can only take a short drive, then do that. If you can only eat a healthy meal or healthy product today, do that. Just do something because that is how successful people move forward. They realize doing is the new planning, so stay motivated, and ReLaunch!
