I’ll probably keep it with the Thanksgiving theme, just end it with something simple, give more than you get. You know there’s something special that happens… (Brian gets emotional here…)

You know something special happens when you have the opportunity to do that kind of stuff. This year I probably made triple the amount of money I made last year with my side hustle and some things I’ve started doing with my carpentry, my skillset, and my level of commitment to taking care of my family. The money I made doesn’t mean shit to me.

[spp-timestamp time=”03:06″] StreetCorner Gourmets has been going on for 47 years. I just finished my fire season, she loved hearing that story. I said, I’ll be back and give me your contact information. I’m going to come up and I’m gonna volunteer with you, your family, and these people you gather every year to create such a powerful impact.
[spp-timestamp time=”04:35″] 2000 meals made from scratch, Thanksgiving meals that we create in a commercial kitchen with volunteer work, then taken to the streets, and we serve them hot on the street Thanksgiving morning.
[spp-timestamp time=”06:12″] Shoutout to Brian Strauser of the Strauser Project, he’s been on the show a couple times over the years. He was inspired to join me this year. Another tradition I’m going to throw in here for you guys is we also attempt to do a mountain bike ride every Thanksgiving day morning.

[spp-timestamp time=”07:59″] I got changed in the parking lot, freezing my butt off. This annual ride is called the Jaeger ride. It is inspired by Jaegermeister, the liquor, if you choose not to drink, it’s okay.

A powerful organization out of New York ever since 911, and the loss of the twin towers. Thousands of people and thousands of first responders who had died, triggered an organization that rose from the ashes, The Stephen Siller Foundation

Their tagline is the Tunnel 2 Towers organization and it’s a story of Stephen Siller, a fallen FDNY member who was off duty the day of 911. He tried getting to the tower, grabbed 70 pounds of gear, his clothing, his equipment, ran from the tunnel to the towers.

This is solo recorded episode while traveling to NYC for Yes!Solutions. I’m promoting our annual volunteer work that is accomplished for Thanksgiving in Harlem, NYC. This episode is about the StreetCorner Gourmets and the non-profit work of Yes Solutions founded by Sister Mary Lanning. We even get our turkeys cooked by surrounding NYC Fire Departments!

Thanksgiving Day every year. All-night Wednesday and all-day Thursday. Help is always needed all week long. Launching our StreetCorner Gourmets winter season is the first of our extravagant, touching Three Lonely Holidays On The Street.

We Bring Belonging Back! We bring the holidays to the sidewalk for those who don’t have a home or family.

We prepare a sumptuous hot meal, cooked overnight and delivered hot from the stove to our street corner table which is a bench at a bus stop. We spend the day with our guests, enjoying conversation, companionship, laughs, family histories, and the happy, eager attentions of our own children and grandchildren.

We eat together—turkey, all the go-withs, and enough homemade sweet potato pies to have seconds. And thirds. And take-homes (wherever Home is.)

Original StreetCorner Gourmets recipes, prepared overnight on Thanksgiving Eve in our borrowed B-I-G kitchen and in dozens of private homes; delivered hot to the street by whole families, sharing their meal con gusto.
