Autoimmune Diseases and What’s Wrong With My Child

Autoimmune Diseases and What’s Wrong With My Child with Elizabeth Harris on LIVETHEFUEL

Autoimmune conditions and diseases are real. Do you wonder what’s wrong with your child?

Elizabeth Harris is a devoted mother, author and science-minded business owner with more than two decades of experience in the field of wellness. Elizabeth’s education, life experience, drive and entrepreneurial spirit proved to be the very thing that saved the life of both herself and her son after they were diagnosed with rare and very serious autoimmune diseases.

In 2008, Elizabeth’s son came down with a case of strep throat, after receiving antibiotics he seemed to be feeling better, but then his behavior became erratic. After consulting numerous doctors, specialists and undergoing multiple tests, Elizabeth’s son was diagnosed with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS) and he was prescribed psychiatric medication and they were sent on their way. Her son got worse. He began having uncontrollable compulsions and ended up in a juvenile detention center. His psychiatric symptoms were replacing his physical symptoms and Elizabeth realized that her son’s immune system was misfiring. Around the same time, Elizabeth was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome, experienced hair loss, limb numbness and more. Elizabeth decided to take matters into her own hands, quit her job and dedicated her life to finding the real root of her son’s health issues. She discovered that both herself and her son were infected by a bacteria called Mycoplasma Pneumonia and was able to follow a treatment plan to finally solve their health issues. Today, Elizabeth uses her experience and her expert wellness team to help others at What’s Wrong Wellness and is also the author of What’s Wrong with My Child and America is Infected.

Timestamped Show Notes:

00:30 – Introduction

05:00 – Well, they weren’t the same, they didn’t present the same. But ultimately they were and so that was the confusing piece. I mean, there was some good news and bad and we had adopted two children as well. So everyone was showing symptoms, you know, when you get all this information, and this or that and finally, one day, I’m like, well, wait a minute.

11:30 – I just trusted our pediatrician that he knew what to do. But it was very odd. When my ex-husband and my son were over there when this happened. We both witnessed him just completely going into these episodes, it was an episode with one specific actor struck.

19:30 – I just took a hiatus, a sabbatical basically, just to be a full time mom, stay at home, and keep an eye on everything.  Then our housekeeper comes in one day with a sore throat and had strep. And here comes around to I mean, almost immediately, it sent him through the roof, this time with a whole new on flight, and a variety of psychiatric symptoms yet again. So it’s like a next level. So like now it’s not just OCD and ADHD, this time we had oddness and the compulsions to live there.

30:00 – I’m waiting really and I’m like looking at all these labs. I’m taking him to all of these doctors just to make sure I haven’t missed anything but the only thing in his system is streptococcal pneumonia and his titers are always really high when he’s in bad shape and a mycoplasma pneumonia infection. One or two doctors already said, that doesn’t mean anything. But you know, once we had the other things in place, that was the only thing still left. So I said, okay, this has to be this, like, it’s nothing else. We had the genes tested at $10,000 in genetic testing, on top of the fact that, my adopted children had them. So at the end of the day, I was like, I gotta learn more about this mycoplasma pneumonia.

40:00 – I’m either gonna order $3,000 worth of these antibiotics, we’re gonna get cured, or we’ll lose a house and we’re gonna die anyways.

52:43 – Final Words Shown Below…

Our Final Words of the Show:

Trust yourself, advocate for yourself. Don’t be intimidated. Just, if you feel something is off, something’s off. Don’t let yourself get talked out of it.
