That’s right, this is Scott’s 4th Men of Mindset event at his home casa! Tonight we featured manly guests discussing various aspects of life, business, and personal growth. Scott introduced the theme, emphasizing the importance of mindset. Nick shared his transition from corporate to entrepreneurship, highlighting the need for male connections. Rob discussed the challenges of balancing work and family, while Andre focused on leadership and personal development. Brian emphasized the importance of time management and delegation. Dave recounted his journey from fitness to construction, underscoring the value of mentorship. The conversation concluded with reflections on success, happiness, and the significance of personal values. The discussion centered on the concept of financial freedom and its impact on personal and professional life. Scott shared his journey from corporate life to Wildland Firefighting, emphasizing the importance of time, location, and financial freedom. He highlighted his charity, Fuel Foundations, which he donates 5% of his income to. This was inspired by the book “Profit First” and the Cole Hatter events “Thrive Make Money Matter”. Brian also shared a story of donating $500 to a fellow Hurricane Helene volunteer, which led to significant impacts in North Carolina. The conversations also touched on the importance of resilience, problem-solving, and the value of entrepreneurial mindsets in achieving success. They also welcomed a new face, a lifelong entrepreneur, Dave Intini, who joined in on the fun with brisket, cigars, and manly growth conversations.

Timestamped Show Notes:

34:00 – Well, the gamble becomes, given your tolerance for risk, given your personality, like you said, the gamble became pretty clear. For one, my former career was mental health. So I was 20 years as a mental health therapist, master’s degree, and making $45,000 a year. That’s poverty, that’s a crime. Even if you make $250-500,000 a year, it doesn’t matter like when you’re in corporate and you have a title that goes along with it, at some point, you’re signing your soul away for you to make that money, you’re gonna have to work more. You have to do all those things. But as an entrepreneur, you can make infinite money without always having to work harder.

40:10 – Let me full serve that real quick. One thing I love about this is like you’ve given me a lot of props over the years since I met you over running chainsaws, volunteering, building mountain biking trails, and hearing those horror stories and just me telling you, like, bro, start easy. Just start listening to podcasts. Get into the audiobooks, start geeking out. That was just some of the earlier shit we discussed. But technically, what I loved full circle tonight was what you just said a few minutes ago, before the word vomit, is the fact that actually Dave’s one of your earlier mentors, before you met me.

64:50 – I’m the same person, but because I have more financial freedom, I can fix most problems and help build most dreams, most of which are for other people that I care about. Therefore, that’s when I say money matters.

73:00 – I worked for one person my whole life, my dad. I moved on, I went on, I kept going. I saw my own thing, but that’s the family, but again, the lightest, most laid back guy here. He taught me everything.

82:00 – Final Words

Final Words Timetamped:

01:04:30 – Rob’s Final Words: I said it before on your show, and it’s a rule I follow as well to help you stick to your goals or resolutions or whatever you want to title them for 2025 write them down, title it and then if you’re done writing it down, take the time to write a paragraph afterwards. Whatever the goal is, whatever you guys use, write it down, and then do something no one does after they write it down. If you wrote it down, you’re already 90% above everybody else. Take that last 10% and read it out loud. Then if you find yourself falling off or not sure why, just pull it back out. Don’t forget about it. The more you write, the more you can focus. People don’t write things out anymore. I’m not talking about typing it. Don’t type it and no, don’t put in your phone. Get a pen and a paper and write it down like you learned in elementary school.

01:06:20 – Final Words from Brian: I just bought a really good new journal. I’m a big journal guy and value writing things down. I was talking to my wife the other day because I got some lofty goals again for ’25, trying to get my life in check, as I always am doing. I need to come up with a journal that really encompasses. I don’t want a weight loss journal. I don’t want a diet journal. I don’t want a weightlifting journal. I don’t want a Business Journal. I want a journal that’s a lifestyle journal that really has bits and pieces. I’m not trying to lose weight. I’m not trying to build the mega business. I’m trying to do all of it. I want to create the total package and and I started doing some Googling and dicking around on Amazon and stuff, and found, I don’t remember the name of the damn company, but I found a very good journal that kind of does that for me. So I’ve already been sitting there writing down doing exactly what you’re talking about those things. Yeah, I got it. It’s all down.

01:10:20 – Final Words from Chris: All words are wise. Something that really resonated with me tonight was Brian mentioned it earlier. You know, driving your kids to school, spending that 15 minutes with them, that’s something that, I’ll be honest, it fucking annoys the shit out of me. Driving the kids to school sometimes, because it’s, I have enough going on and driving the kids to school, there’s five of them. It’s two different trips back and forth. But, you know, I kind of take that for granted, and those are times where you’re right, I’m never gonna fucking get them back.

Timestamped Show Notes:

08:30 – When it comes to our Lehigh Valley, PA region, there’s not enough personal and professional development here locally, like you said, I’ve traveled everywhere, California, Florida, Texas, we know social groups and masterminds.

10:20 – I’ll tell you , it always surprised me when I speak at more local events and not the big stages. Like you said, traveling all over the country, no matter where you’re doing it, no matter if it’s New York City, or if it’s going to be here in the Lehigh Valley, wherever it is. So many people are hungry for it. I believe that everybody knows the truth deep inside, but either busy has beat them, or life has beat them down, or they’re on autopilot doing things. But when we hear the truth, we all stop for a second, we all pause.

22:00 – It changes the intent and how you see things, I promise you, and you’re talking to a guy who is a convicted felon, I did four years in the Feds, a high school dropout, I was a drug addict on every single level. I’ve done every single drug known to man, I had zero discipline, I had a mindset where I did whatever the fuck I wanted. I didn’t care who I hurt, I didn’t care what I did. There was zero discipline. Now, in this evolution, for people to understand where real personal growth comes from, with your family, with your relationships, with your finances, with your health, with everything… it’s discipline!

29:15 – Brother when I came in here, I put my phone over on the table. You know what I mean? It’s because it’s that thing, that mobile tech, you got to be disciplined to not look at it. Discipline is everything. Like I can’t say it enough and I can’t talk about it enough, DISCIPLINE.

39:25 – What you mentioned too, was intentional evaluation process. As we get older, many people stop evaluating themselves. I mean, you work in a job, you’re gonna have an annual review. But those numbers are already circled. How about we get to circle our own numbers and be intentional. So once a month I call it get my life together Saturday. I sit down with a cup of coffee, a cigar, and maybe really nice drink. Then I put down the different roles that I play as a versus overall as me, Andre, but also as a husband, as a father, I have four kids, believe me, I’ll have four different ratings. Okay, as a leader, and you could go whatever role that you value, put it down on a scale of one to ten. My rating is on a scale of one to ten.

45:00 – So I think one of the challenges of being a coach is we try to coach at home, and they don’t need a coach, like I experienced this with my daughter, Wes knows my kids. This is what I have on my phone at 9:15, and it says discipline equals freedom. Make a list for tomorrow goes off every night at nine o’clock. So like, this is where discipline comes into play. The gift in the curse with what we do, we coach people, we give people direction, we tell them what they need. Then we go home…

53:30 – DALE: Yeah, they need to be present, just like we were talking about be present where you are present. Like I to have quite a few friends who just had the most amazing dads. Like there’s nothing more important to them than their family and their kids. Not just that they’re proactively raising their children and teaching them. Here’s what it means to be an entrepreneur at 10, 11, 12. If you do this, I’ll give you a reward. So they understand reward systems, they understand then once they start doing those things, they get a reward, but how good they feel on the other side is a huge reward in itself too. So they’re just teaching them all these different things in life that I learned, but I didn’t necessarily learn from one person.

59:00 – One in 400 trillion or it’s 400 trillion to one. Each of us, you yourself are that one in 400 trillion chance to come into existence. When I heard that statistic, I immediately was woken up, just think about that. Just the thought of that is happening, why do you exist on this earth, why are you walking around. Each of us are a 400 trillion to one chance of creation. That’s it. When you think about that, it’s like each of us won the lottery of life. So you know how special you are right now?!

01:07:00 – I’m a man of faith, I don’t hide that. I think it’s very important, not so much being religious, but I’m spiritual. I heard the voice of God and he said, Wes, I’m all the father that you’ll ever need. I’m all the father that you’ll ever need, bro. When you put expectations on human beings, they will let you down a lot. So he said, I’m all the man that you’ll ever need. Just FYI, we’re setting a fucking date for this Men Of Mindset night again bros. I’m coming back!

01:13:00 – I mean, I think that’s part of growth, though. The theme of tonight was Men and Mindset, right? Mindset is just the key word. This event them just popped in my head, so I was just like, I’m just gonna stick it on the calendar invite and I’m still gonna stick by it. I’m feeling it.
